Hello, my name is Marcel. Welcome to my portfolio site. I have been building websites for over 10 years as a hobby and the occasional paid or unpaid side project. I have also worked in the technology field since the late 90's in various jobs as an A+ certified computer support and repair technician, telecom networking, server assembly, etc.
In 2011 I decided to get serious and turn my career path in the direction of what I love to do which is web design, photography, and writing. I'm currently taking classes to work towards a 1 year Web Design and Development Certificate at PCC. I have completed Web classes in Dreamweaver beginner, Dreamweaver Intermediate, XHTML, and Photoshop for the Web. For the Spring 2012 semester I'm taking DHTML/CSS, Flash, SEO, Multimedia, and will complete an AGS degree by the end of this term. I plan to take 8 more Web classes after that to complete a 1 year Web Design and Development Certificate.
I have done some paid projects in the past, but I am putting that type of work on hold until I can finish school. I am however looking for an internship opportunity which is part of the Web Certificate program, and would very much like to find a job working in the Web Design field after the spring semester.
